Tyler begins her seventh season as Point University’s head softball coach in 2018.  The 2017 squad won a school-record 31 games and lost 22 and went 12-8 in Appalachian Athletics Conference action, and Point's 2016 team posted a 28-27 overall record and tied for sixth place in the AAC regular-season standings with a 9-11 record.  Her career coaching record is 136-165 through her first six seasons at Point.

 

Before Point, she served as head junior varsity softball coach for Lee University (2010-11).  She also served as assistant softball coach at Lee University (2009-11) where she helped guide the Flames to a 122-35 record over three seasons. While at Lee University she earned her master’s degree in the art of teaching.

 

Prior to her stint at Lee University, she worked as an assistant coach at Donelson Christian Academy (2008) in Nashville, Tenn.

 

Tyler, a 2007 graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology.  Also a four-year letter-winner for the softball program, she owns the career and single-season home run record (23) for TNU.  She helped her team to its first two NAIA National Tournament appearances (2006, 2007) where it finished number five in the nation both years. 

 

As a prolific power hitter, she earned NAIA All-Region First-Team and NFCSA All-Region First-Team (2006, 2007), TranSouth All-Conference First-Team (2006, 2007), NFCA and NAIA First-Team All-American (2007). For her impact on the diamond, Tyler was inducted into the Trevecca Nazarene University Hall of Fame as a student-athlete in 2012.

 

Tyler is married to John Tyler, Point University’s head baseball coach.
