Jon Callahan was hired as an assistant men's soccer coach for Point University on Jan. 15, 2016.  Callahan joined the Skyhawk staff for what will be his second stint working alongside Coach Lenarz.  From 2011 to 2014, he coached at Arizona Christian University, where he served as assistant men's soccer coach with primary responsibilities for training the Firestorm goalkeepers and another two seasons as the women's head soccer coach.

Prior to that, Callahan coached the women's team at his alma mater, Dallas Baptist University, from 2007 through 2011. In addition, he has served as a college staff coach for the Soccerplus Goalkeeper School. He has also coached in the Rush Soccer Club and at Phoenix Christian High School.

Callahan competed for Dallas Baptist soccer as a goalkeeper in 2004 and 2005, and earned team Most Valuable Player honors as a sophomore in 2005. He set school records for lowest goals-against average in a season in each season at DBU before the program was disbanded. He then played another year of Division II soccer before returning to DBU and transitioning into his coaching role.

Callahan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and also possesses a Master's Degree in Kinesiology, both from Dallas Baptist University.  He married his bride, Hannah, in August, 2017.
