Tory Wooley begins his fifth season as head coach of the Point women’s basketball team in 2017-18, and enters the season with a 78-49 career coaching record (.614)..In each of his first three seasons, the team's win total has increased.

During his first year as head coach (2013-14), he lead the Lady Skyhawks to a 14-win season, which surpassed the combined victory total of the previous two teams.  In his second season (2014-15), the Skyhawks finished with a 18-13 record and in 2015-16 and 2016-17, Point compiled a program-record 23 wins in both seasons (23-12 and 23-7).

Wooley was named the 2015-2016 NCCAA South Region Coach of the Year after the Skyhawks were crowned South Region Tournament Champions, defeating NCAA Division II Emmanuel College in the title game.  The win over Emmanuel advanced the Skyhawks to the NCCAA Division I National Tournament.

On November 28, 2015, Wooley guided Point to perhaps the most impressive victory in program history, as the Skyhawks knocked off the No. 4 ranked team in NAIA Division I, Bethel University.  The 2015-16 season was also a successful one in the classroom for the women's basketball team as the ladies were named a NAIA Scholar-Team, achieving a 3.22 team GPA.  In 2016-17, Point defeated each of its 11 conference opponents at least once.

Through his tenure as head coach of the Skyhawks, Wooley has coached six AAC All-Freshman players, two AAC Freshman of the Year winners, seven AAC All-Conference players, one AAC Player of the Year, one NAIA Honorable Mention All-American and three NCCAA All-Region players.

As a student-athlete Wooley lettered all four years for the Skyhawks and served as team captain during each of his last three seasons.  Honored as an NCCAA All-American during his career, Wooley currently remains one of the all-time leading scorers of the men’s basketball program, finishing with 1,765 career points and helped Point to win the NCCAA South Region championship his junior year.  He graduated with honors and was the recipient of the prestigious Hathcock Award.

Wooley’s coaching experience began with working at basketball clinics in Costa Rica (SCORE International) and Israel (Fellowship of Christian Athletes); assisting with Shaka Smart’s camp at VCU; and coaching at the Dwight Howard Father and Son camp in Atlanta, Ga.  He has also served as an assistant coach for the Georgia Stars U-17 AAU boy’s basketball team.

A native of Atlanta, Wooley is a graduate of Southwest Atlanta Christian, where he played alongside center Dwight Howard of the Charlotte Hornets. As teammates, Howard and Wooley won two high school Class-A region championships together.

In 2014, Wooley earned his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and Coaching from Georgia Southern University.
