Lewis, a freshman third baseman from Savannah, Ga., has started the season on fire at the plate for the Lady Skyhawks. In 12 games, she is second on the team with 15 hits in 35 at bats (.429). On the season, she has a hit in nine of the twelve games and is currently on a three game hitting streak.

She leads the Lady Skyhawks and the Appalachian Athletic Conference in RBIs totaling nine so far on the year. Her two home runs have her tied at the No. 1 in the AAC.

Head softball coach Jennifer Tyler believes Lewis has made a tremendous impact as a freshman this season.

“Bri Lewis is the type of freshman every coach dreams of," Tyler said. "She was expected to step right in and be a key player for our team and has exceeded those expectations. Her passion for the game is contagious on the field. She has exceptional power at the plate and we look forward to see what she accomplishes and helps our team accomplish during her career here.”

Lewis and the Lady Skyhawks will be back in action Tuesday, Feb. 24 when Point travels to Southern Wesleyan for a doubleheader.
