Head Coach - 1st Season
Alma Mater: Shorter University (Ga.)

Hired in June, 2017, Shelby Beverly is entering her first season as Point University’s women’s lacrosse head coach.

A Woodstock, Ga. native, Beverly played lacrosse all four years at Etowah High School until her graduation in May, 2012.

Beverly was a five-year member of the Shorter University women’s lacrosse program and served as a team captain for three seasons.  She leaves Shorter as its all-time leader in goals (121), second all-time in points (154), fourth all-time in assists (33), and was named Conference Player of the Week twice during her final season in 2017.

During her playing career with the Hawks, Beverly won the National Women’s Lacrosse League (NWLL) Rookie of the Year award following her freshman season and was also named to the All-Conference Freshman Team.  Beverly won Offensive Player of the Year following her sophomore campaign in 2014, and after suffering an injury that kept her from playing nearly all of her senior season, she returned after receiving a medical redshirt to play as a graduate student, winning Offensive Player of the Year for her second time following the 2017 season.

Off the field, Beverly was a member of the Dean’s List during the 2014-15 academic year and was selected to the Gulf South All-Academic team following the 2017 season.

Beverly graduated from Shorter University in 2016 with an undergrad degree in Sports Management and is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration with a Sports Management concentration from Shorter University, and is one class away from graduating.
