Head Coach - 3rd Season
Alma Mater: Evangel University (Mo.)

Amanda Jones begins her third season as head volleyball coach for Point University in 2017.  The Skyhawks posted a 12-18 record in 2016, and equaled the program's school record (originally set by the 2013 team) for most wins in a single season.

 

Jones served as head volleyball coach of First Assembly Christian School (2014) and the director/head coach of East Alabama Volleyball Club (2013-2015).  During that time, she was also an adjunct professor at Southern Union State Community College.

 

Jones served as a graduate assistant coach for the University of Southern Mississippi volleyball program (NCAA Division I) for two seasons (2012-2013).  Jones helped guide the Golden Eagles to a 17-14 record in the 2013 season.

 

Jones began her collegiate playing career at Missouri State-West Plains Community College in 2007, before transferring to Evangel University.  Jones was a three-year letterwinner and starter at Evangel where she was a three-time All-Heart of America Athletic Conference performer.  She helped Evangel win back-to-back conference championships in 2009 and 2010.

 

During her three-year career, the Crusaders compiled a 78-29 record and finished  the 2010 season ranked number 22 in the NAIA National Coaches' poll.  In 2009, Evangel advanced to the first round of the NAIA National Tournament.

 

Jones' previous coaching experiences include head coaching positions with Hub City Volleyball Club (2012-2013), the Springfield Stars Volleyball Club (2008-2012) and the West Plains Volleyball Club (2007-2008).  She was also a student assistant for Evangel in 2011.

 

A native of Willard, Mo., Coach Jones received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Evangel in 2012.  She also earned a Master of Science in Human Performance with an emphasis in Physical Education from Southern Mississippi in 2013.
