VENTURA, Calif. - Becky Guadiana, a senior at Ventura (Calif.) High School has signed a letter of intent to run for the lady Skyhawks this fall.

Guadiana, who had a tremendous high school career has personal best times of 5:12 in the mile, 11:10 in the two mile and ran numerous outstanding cross country races. Two notable races that caught the eye of Coach Caldwell were her  17:10 at the prestigious Mt. Sac Invitational (2.91 course) where she averaged a 5:54 pace, and her 17:50 at the Channel League Finals (three mile course) where she ran an average of 5:57 on that course.

"Becky is going to fit in real well with our team," Caldwell said. "She is very humble, has a great personality and is determined to succeed in the classroom and in running. We are so pleased to have her heading to Point University and I believe we are putting together a distance running program that will give her the opportunity to reach all the goals she has for herself the next four years."

Ventura high school coach Preston Biller believes Point is getting a tremendous athlete.

"Becky has been a big part of our team success for four years and is one of the top runners to come through Ventura High School," Biller said. "She is a very talented runner who I know I could always count on to race well. She is a great teammate and a joy to coach."
