Men's Cross Country - Sun, Sep. 29, 2013

Freshman Jordan Dunwoody ran a 5:19 first mile and never looked back over the 8K course (approximately 5 miles) to finish in a season's best time of 28:01. The Skyhawk men finished 6th overall in the large field of 16 teams (13 scored). Finishing behind Dunwoody was Eliseo Magallon (29:26), Leonard Mason (29:32), Leonard Scott (29:36), Luke Jensen (30:47), Jorge Hernandez (30:56) and Aaron Lang (32:15). Michael Medford who is redshirting and ran unattached finished in a time of 29:57. All five freshmen (Dunwoody, Mason, Scott, Hernandez and Medford) ran personal bests today. Junior captain Dezmond Skipper who turned his ankle on Thursday was unable to race for the Skyhawks. "Our guys ran shorthanded today and really stepped up. We set a goal today to have five guys run sub 30 minutes and we did that today. These guys really work hard in practice, and their hard work is really paying off as they are really improving," stated Coach Caldwell.

The Skyhawks will be back in action Saturday as they travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to run in the largest cross country race in the United States.
