The Lady Skyhawks, who were recently picked to finish 2nd in the AAC, will begin their season on Saturday.


The Skyhawks who will begin their 2nd season of cross country, have high hopes for 2013.


"We have some talented runners coming back and we have added more to that group. If they stay healthy and work hard, they have an opportunity to have a season they can be proud of," commented head coach Mike Caldwell.


The women's team has several returners. All-Conference runners Susana Marquez and Paola Gonzalez, All-Freshmen runner Savannah Hanna, and Katie Crumbley will be pivotal the lady Skyhawks' success. Gonzalez and Marquez will serve as team captains this fall.


New runners to Point this year are junior college transfers Esther Estrada and Jacqueline Escobedo. Point also added some youth to the team in freshmen runners Kati Williams, Kenya Gonzalez and Shelby Biddle.


The Skyhawks will open the season this Saturday at the Darton Invitational.
