WALESKA, Ga. – The Reinhardt University Eagles (19-4; 10-1 AAC) ended the nine-game winning streak of the visiting Point University Skyhawks (14-6; 9-3 AAC) with a sweep, 3-0, in Tuesday, Oct. 10 Appalachian Athletics Conference volleyball action inside the Brown Athletic Center in Waleska, Ga.


After Point tied the opening set at 9-9, Reinhardt took the lead and closed the set on a 16-11 run to win the first set, 25-20.  Neither team led by more than four points in the second set, but with the score tied 24-24, Reinhardt won two consecutive points to take the set, 26-24.  Point led 13-9 in the third and final set, but the Eagles closed the set on a 16-3 to win the set, 25-16, and the match, 3-0.


Point finished the three-set match with 34 kills and 27 attack errors in 106 total attacks (.066), 32 set assists, two service aces, 37 digs, and seven total team blocks.  Reinhardt totaled 39 kills with 17 errors in 93 total attacks (.237), 38 set assists, five service aces, 45 digs and three total team blocks.


Junior outside hitter Jordan Bemis (Middleburg, FL) and sophomore right-side hitter Charlotte Havrisik (Riverside, CA) each finished with eight kills, junior middle blocker Tatiana Dale (Kenner, LA) totaled six kills and one block, and freshman outside hitter Te'a Owens (Rossville, GA) and senior right-side hitter Suheily Colon-Rodriguez (Carolina, Puerto Rico) each added five kills.


Sophomore setter Julia Felix (New Orleans, LA) had one kill, 17 set assists and three digs, and freshman setter Kaitlyn Hawke (Highland, MI) added five digs and one kill.


Defensively, senior libero Gabriana Nichols (Pecos, TX) finished with nine digs and went a perfect 16-for-16 in service receptions, and sophomore defensive specialist Cameron Roby (Warner Robins, GA) recorded four digs and went a perfect 10-for-10 in service receptions.
