Point men's soccer picked up its first conference victory of the season with a shutout win at Milligan, 2-0.

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – The Point University Skyhawks (7-5-1; 1-4-0 AAC) used one first-half goal and one late second-half goal en route to defeating the host Milligan College Buffaloes (1-11-1; 0-6-0 AAC) in shutout fashion, 2-0, in Saturday, Oct. 7 Appalachian Athletic Conference men's soccer action in Milligan College, Tenn.  The win marks the Skyhawks first conference victory of the season and snaps a three-match losing streak.


The Skyhawks established an early lead when freshman midfielder Koen Vos (Budel, Netherlands) connected on a penalty kick attempt from the left side to put his team up 1-0 after a Milligan defender was called for a foul moments earlier.


The Skyhawks increased their lead with a late goal at 87:48 when Point's leading scorer, freshman forward Juan Gomez (Malaga, Spain) stole the ball and beat the opposing keeper on a one-on-one matchup for the score, putting Point up 2-0 and sealing the win.


Point starting goalkeeper Jacob Price (Hereford, UK) played the entire match and allowed no goals while saving seven opponent shots, and Milligan goalkeeper Nick Smith started and played the entire match for the Buffaloes and allowed two goals and made four saves.
