TALLADEGA, Ala.   Point University (10-5) totaled 54 kills with 21 attack errors in 89 attempts (.371) en route to a victory over the host Talladega College Tornadoes (3-10), 3-1, in Thursday, September 28 intercollegiate volleyball action in Talladega, Ala.  With the victory, the Skyhawks have now won five consecutive matches.


Point dropped the first set, 25-21, but rallied back to tie the match 1-1 with a victory in set two, 25-20.  Point captured the third set, 25-8, and would go on to take the fourth and final set, 25-13, and the match, 3-1.


Point finished the four-set match with 54 kills and 21 attack errors in 89 total attacks (.371), 31 set assists, 87 digs, and eight total team blocks.  Talladega totaled 36 kills with 31 errors in 79 total attacks (.063), 23 set assists, 50 digs and four total team blocks.


Freshman outside hitter Te'a Owens (Rossville, GA) finished with a match-high 17 kills with seven digs and one set assist, junior middle blocker Tatiana Dale (Kenner, LA) added 13 kills and ten digs, and sophomore right-side hitter Charlotte Havrisik (Riverside, CA) totaled 12 kills with four attack errors in 21 attempts (.381) and added three digs and two blocks.


Sophomore setter Julia Felix (New Orleans, LA) nine set assists and six digs, and freshman setter Kaitlyn Hawke (Highland, MI) added two kills, eight set assists and 11 digs.


Defensively, senior libero Gabriana Nichols (Pecos, TX) finished with 21 digs, five set assists and went a perfect 8-for-8 in service receptions, and sophomore defensive specialist Tessa Burns (Columbus, GA) recorded five set assists and three digs.
