WEST POINT, Ga.   Point University (7-5; 3-2 AAC) totaled 46 kills with 27 attack errors in 128 attempts (.148) en route to a sweep of the visiting Milligan College Buffaloes (5-10; 3-3 AAC), 3-0, in Friday, September 22 Appalachian Athletics Conference volleyball action at West Point Park Gymnasium in West Point, Ga.  The Skyhawks won set one, 25-21, set two, 25-20 and set three, 25-19.

    

Milligan and Point each led the first set by as many as five points, but the Skyhawks were able to create some momentum as the set went on, taking the first set, 25-21.  Milligan raced ahead to a 3-0 advantage to begin the second set, but Point would take the lead early in the set and would lead by as many as six points on its way to securing the second set, 25-20.  Point led by as many as eight points during the third and final set and would go on to take the set, 25-19, and the match, 3-0.

 

Point finished the three-set match with 46 kills and 27 attack errors in 128 total attacks (.148), 41 assists, five service aces, 64 digs, and 11 total team blocks.  Milligan totaled 29 kills with 20 errors in 115 total attacks (.078), 25 assists, one service ace, 47 digs and 10 total team blocks.

 

Sophomore right-side hitter Charlotte Havrisik (Riverside, CA) led the Skyhawks with 10 kills and added one block and one dig, freshman outside hitter Te'a Owens (Rossville, GA) finished with nine kills and six digs, and senior right-side hitter Suheily Colon-Rodriguez (Carolina, Puerto Rico) added eight kills, seven digs and three blocks.  Junior middle blocker Tatiana Dale (Kenner, LA) finished with seven kills and junior right-side hitter Karen Souza (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) totaled five kills and one block.

 

Sophomore setter Julia Felix (New Orleans, LA) had three kills, 17 assists and six digs, and freshman setter Kaitlyn Hawke (Highland, MI) added 17 set assists and totaled 14 digs.

 

Defensively, senior libero Gabriana Nichols (Pecos, TX) finished with nine digs with four assists and went a perfect 13-for-13 in service receptions, and sophomore defensive specialist Cameron Roby (Warner Robins, GA) recorded six digs and one assist.
