WEST POINT, GA   Point University (4-4-0; 2-0-0 AAC) trailed the visiting Montreat College Cavaliers (3-5-0; 1-1-0 AAC) 1-0 at halftime, but used two second-half goals, including the game-winning goal by senior forward Madison Plemons (Columbus, GA) at 89:23 to go ahead and escape with the win, 2-1 in Friday, September 22 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) women's soccer action at River Bowl Stadium in West Point, Ga.

Montreat opened the scoring 28:52 into the match with a goal off the foot of freshman forward Hannah Leonard to give the Cavaliers a 1-0 advantage.

The Skyhawks got off 15 shots in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net and trailed heading into halftime, 1-0.

Point's offense came to life quickly in the second half, with junior midfielder Jasmine Marquez (Savannah, GA) finding the back of the net for a goal at 56:26, with her sister, midfielder Sabria Marquez (SO/Savannah, GA) assisting her on the score to tie the match, 1-1.

The score remained tied for the majority of the second half, but with only 37 seconds remaining in regulation, Plemons was able to sneak past the Cavalier defense to put Point ahead with what would prove to be the game-winning goal at 89:23, allowing the Skyhawks to remain unbeaten in conference with the comeback victory, 2-1.

Point goalkeeper Rachel Ash (Douglasville, GA) started and played the entire match for the Skyhawks, allowing one goal and making two saves, while Montreat goalkeeper Jordan Devan started and played the entire match for the Cavaliers and allowed two goals and made 12 saves.
