WEST POINT, Ga.   Point University (6-5; 2-2 AAC) totaled 48 kills with 11 attack errors in 103 attempts (.359) en route to a sweep of the visiting Allen University Yellowjackets (4-5; 0-4 AAC), 3-0, in Tuesday, September 19 Appalachian Athletics Conference volleyball action at West Point Park Gymnasium in West Point, Ga.  The Skyhawks won set one, 25-18, set two, 25-18 and set three, 25-13.

    

The Skyhawks never trailed during the first set and led by as many as eight points on their way to taking the opening set, 25-18.  Point controlled the second set, leading by as many as eight points again, going on to win the set, 25-18, and the Skyhawks would only trail briefly by as many as four points during the third set, but they would end the final set on a 9-0 run, winning the set, 25-13 and earning a victory in the match, 3-0.

 

Point finished the three-set match with 48 kills and 11 attack errors in 103 total attacks (.359), 44 assists, five service aces, 62 digs, and six total team blocks.  Allen totaled 33 kills with 16 errors in 113 total attacks (.150), 29 assists, two service aces, 43 digs and three total team blocks.

 

Junior middle blocker Tatiana Dale (Kenner, LA) led Point offensively with 11 kills and just one attack error in 16 attack attempts (.625) and also recorded four digs and two assisted blocks. Junior outside hitter Jordan Bemis (Middleburg, FL), sophomore right-side hitter Charlotte Havrisik (Riverside, CA), and senior right-side hitter Suheily Colon-Rodriguez (Carolina, Puerto Rico) each finished with nine kills, and freshman outside hitter Te'a Owens (Rossville, GA) added six kills with no attack errors in 11 attack attempts (.545).

 

Sophomore setter Julia Felix (New Orleans, LA) had one kill, 22 assists, and 10 digs, and freshman setter Kaitlyn Hawke (Highland, MI) added one kill, 14 set assists and totaled 11 digs.

 

Defensively, senior libero Gabriana Nichols (Pecos, TX) finished with 11 digs with five assists and went a perfect 12-for-12 in service receptions, and sophomore defensive specialist Cameron Roby (Warner Robins, GA) recorded nine digs and one assist.
