Point rarely trailed en route to a 3-0 victory in its first conference match of the season.

WEST POINT, Ga. -- Point University (5-3; 1-0 AAC) snapped a two-match losing streak with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-22, 25-11) victory over Columbia College (0-5; 0-1 AAC) in Thursday, September 7 Appalachian Athletic Conference collegiate women's volleyball action in the West Point Park Gymnasium in West Point, Ga.  


Point remained in control the entire match and only trailed the Koalas briefly during the second and third set en route to earning a 3-0 victory in its first conference match of the season.


Point finished its three-set victory with 37 kills and 11 attack errors, 35 assists, served six aces, dug up 36 opponent attacks, and posted one block.  Columbia totaled 22 kills with 27 errors, 18 assists, one service ace, 27 digs and one block.


Junior outside hitter Jordan Bemis (Middleburg, FL) led the match with 16 kills with only errors in 23 attacks (.652) and contributed two service aces and one dig.  Junior middle blocker Tatiana Dale (Kenner, LA) totaled seven kills with one error in 13 attacks (.462), four digs, two aces and one block, and senior libero Gabriana Nichols (Pecos, TX) added nine digs and six assists in ten attempts.


Sophomore setter Julia Felix set 19 assists totaled three digs and had one kill.  Freshman setter Kaitlyn Hawke totaled nine assists and added six digs.
