WEST POINT, Ga. – Faulkner University (1-0-1) outshot Point University (1-0-1), 19-12, and the teams combined for 28 fouls and 11 corner kicks, but the teams failed to light up the scoreboard and played to a 0-0 draw in two overtimes in Friday, Aug. 25 non-conference intercollegiate men's soccer action at River Bowl Stadium in West Point, Ga.

Point led in first-half shots, 5-4, but Point led in shots on goal, 3-1.  Faulkner outshot Point in the second 45-minute half, 8-5, but Point led again in shots on goal, 2-1.  Faulkner peppered the Point net with six shots in the first 10-minute overtime period, while Point managed just one shot, and both schools attempted one shot in the second overtime.  Faulkner's last shot was a direct kick from near the top of the penalty area with just five seconds left to play in the second overtime.

Junior goalkeeper Ned Avies (Rochester, NY) saved all four of Faulkner's shots on goal in 110 minutes of action, and Faulkner's Caio Calado totaled seven saves.  Defender Hugo Marques (SR/Sao Paulo, Brazil); midfielder Christian Howell (SO/Smiths Station, Ala.); midfielder Jeisson Palencia (JR/Bogota, Columbia); midfielder Koen Vos (FR/Budel, Netherlands); and forward Juan Gomez (FR/Malaga, Spain) each attempted two shots for the Skyhawks, and Marques and Palencia each placed both of their shots directly on goal, resulting in four of Calado's seven saves.  Three Eagles attempted three shots each and three others tried two shots each.
