WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University women's basketball coach Tory Wooley has added 5-10 forward Kim Forbes, a 2017 graduate of Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Ga., to his 2017-18 squad.

"Kim comes from a good basketball program, and her length and athleticism suit our system well," commented Coach Wooley.  "She is extremely coachable, and I am excited about the impact she will make both on and off the court the next four years."

Daughter of Leon and Paulette Forbes, Kim played two years of varsity basketball for Coach Ashley Phillips at Mill Creek High School.  She ranked tenth in rebounding among all Gwinnett County high school players, averaging 7.3 rebounds per game as a senior, and averaged 6.1 boards as a junior.  Forbes also competed in track and field for Mill Creek, with best times of 14.08 seconds in the 100-meter dash; 28.22 in the 200-meter dash; 1:00.57 in the 400; and a best height of 4 feet, 6 inches in the high jump.

Forbes helped Mill Creek to compile records of 25-5 overall and 11-2 in conference in 2016-17, and the Hawks won their first two Georgia state playoff games before losing to McEachern in the quarterfinals.  Mill Creek ranked number 12 among all Georgia teams in the MaxPreps/Freeman poll and number five among all Class 7-A schools in Georgia.

Forbes commented about her reasons for choosing Point University as the place where she will continue her education and basketball career, "I love that Point is a Christian school and that every person you meet there is so friendly."
