WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University head men's soccer coach Jonathan Lenarz has added goalkeeper Austin Morris from North Atlanta High School in Atlanta, Ga., to his 2017-18 squad.

"Coach Lenarz and I are extremely excited to bring in such a gifted student-athlete," said men's soccer assistant coach Jon Callahan.  "Austin's size, athleticism and love for the game as well as his commitment to excellence in his position will take him far.  Not only did Austin have a great career at Benjamin E. Mays High School and North Atlanta High School, but he also back-stopped North Atlanta Soccer Association (NASA) to many successful seasons.  His experience and passion will bring great things to our program."

Son of Eldridge and Laura Morris, Austin played varsity soccer for one season as a sophomore at Benjamin E. Mays High School and spent his final two years as a member of the varsity squad at North Atlanta High School, where he received academic honors as a scholar athlete.  Austin also played soccer for NASA where, as the starting goalkeeper, he led his team to multiple tournament championships.

Morris commented on why he chose Point as the place where he will continue his education and competitive soccer career, "I chose Point because of the friendly atmosphere of the university and the camaraderie of the soccer team.  The coaches take a genuine interest in the players, and I am looking forward to advancing my academic and athletic development under their leadership."
