WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University head women's basketball coach Tory Wooley and linebacker Isaiah Ross (JR/Dallas, Ga.) both were recognized by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) for their Christian service during the 2016-17 season.  The awards were presented May 22, by the FCA West Central Georgia Region at its annual spring banquet at the St. Luke Ministry Center in Columbus, Ga.

Wooley, whose 2015-16 and 2016-17 teams each won 23 games, was named College Coach of the Year, and Ross received the College Student Athlete of the Year Award.

Coach Wooley commented, "It is an honor to serve alongside special students such as Isaiah Ross and a host of other students who have genuine servant hearts to make an eternal difference for the Kingdom of God.  We are excited about the Lord moving in the lives of our students at Point University."

The special speaker at the 2017 Spring Banquet was Tom Mullins, the author of The Leadership Game.  Mullins is the founding pastor of Christ Fellowship, a multi-site church of more than 40,000 people meeting on seven campuses around South Florida and online around the world.  Before founding Christ Fellowship, Mullins was a successful football coach at both the high school and collegiate levels.  He now travels and speaks nationally and internationally as the current president of EQUIP, diligently working to raise up Christian leaders around the world.
