WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University baseball players Jacob Ammons (SR/Ellerslie, Ga.), Sahir Fersobe (JR/Santo Domingo, D.R.) and Blake Lorow (SR/Sharpsburg, Ga.) have been named to the 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athlete Team by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).  A total of 383 NAIA baseball student-athletes earned selection to the list.


In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or Sports Information Director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved an academic standing of junior or higher.


Ammons was a member of the Point baseball program for two seasons and only played JV baseball for the Skyhawks last season.  Fersobe pitched two seasons for Point and finished with a career ERA of 5.48 and record of 4-5 with 58 strikeouts in 65-2/3 innings pitched.  A four-year member of the baseball team, Lorow finished his career with a .251 batting average, totaled eight extra-base hits, walked 10 times, stole six bases, and as a pitcher he struck out seven batters in eight innings pitched.
