Point University Men's Golfer Francisco de Oliveira (pictured above) has been Named to the NAIA All-American Third Team

WEST POINT, Ga. – Coached by Steven Paine, Point University men's golfer Francisco de Oliveira (JR/Algarve, Portugal) has been named an NAIA Men's Golf All-American by the NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Association All-American Committee.  A total of 45 student-athletes were honored, with 15 individuals being named to each of the three teams.  De Oliveira was named to the All-American third team and was one of 26 international golfers to make the All-American list.  


This season, de Oliveira boasted a 4.06 stroke average per hole in 504 holes in 28 rounds and has three first-place finishes, one second-place finish and has been Point's individual leader in six of the twelve tournaments in which it competed in during the 2016-17 season.


His other season accolades include two AAC Men's Golfer of the Week selections, the AAC Player of the Year Award, being named a semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award for the NAIA, being named to the NAIA PING South All-Region Team, being named to the Daktronics Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete Team, and competing with his team in the NAIA Men's Golf National Championships.
