WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University men's runner Brayton Gineris (SO/McDonough, GA) and women's runner Lara McCaughey (SR/Peachtree City, Ga.) have been respectively named to the 2017 Men's and Women's Daktronics-NAIA Indoor & Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete Team by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).  A combined total of 783 NAIA men and women indoor and outdoor student-athletes earned selection to the list.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or Sports Information Director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved an academic standing of junior or higher.

A dual-sport athlete, Gineris also received Daktronics-NAIA Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete Team honors earlier this spring.  Gineris owns Point's best times in the men's 800 meter, 1500 meter and 3000 meter this season, and McCaughey is a two-year member of the cross country/distance track team and has a career-best 28:16.05 in the 5000 meter and 21:34.2 in the 4000 meter.
