WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University women's tennis coach Chad Simpson has added Esther de Miguel from Brookwood High School in Lilburn, Ga. and Maddi Marler from Cambridge High School in Alpharetta, Ga. to his 2017-18 squad.

"These are the first one-star American recruits that we have landed here at Point, so we are very pleased that our school and our tennis program's reputation are growing," said Simpson, "These two young ladies have a tremendous work ethic and have high character and will fit perfectly with our culture.  With this amazing recruiting class and all of our returners, I anticipate a record setting season next season."

Esther de Miguel:

"Esther has the game to really be an impact player here at Point," commented Simpson, "She is very solid from the ground, moves well and is a great competitor.  Her parents have been such an encouragement to me and support Esther with great Christian love.  It was a blast to help Esther reach her goal of playing collegiate tennis."

Maddi Marler:

"Maddi is a top student and has been very well coached under Alan Smith," said Simpson, "She is on the brink of taking a huge leap in her game.  She is humble and so hungry to compete and to keep getting better.  It will be a joy to see how high her game will go, and I believe that she has all the tools necessary to become a great player at Point."
