Women's Basketball - Thu, Apr. 27, 2017

WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University women's basketball coach Tory Wooley has added 5-10 forward Jorden Cummings from Eagle's Landing High School in McDonough, Ga. for his 2017-18 squad.

"Jorden is not only a great player, but she is a remarkable person who is extremely coachable," commented Coach Wooley.  "Versatility and ability to play on both sides of the ball is what makes Jorden special.  She will provide us with length and athleticism and is fundamentally sound.  Jorden comes from a great high school program, and we will look to expand on the foundation that has already been laid.  Her leadership qualities and team-first mentality will be valuable in continuing to build the Point women's basketball legacy."

The daughter of Andre and Cheryl Cummings of McDonough, Ga., Jorden played for Coach Lisa Horton at Eagle's Landing High School, which posted a 26-4 record.  Cummings helped her school to win the 2016-17 Regional championship and advance to the Georgia State Tournament Class 5-A Elite Eight.  Her sister, Jailen, also was a member of the team.

"I chose Point for several reasons," Cummings commented.  "After my tour of the school, I really loved the campus and the feel of family values that exuded from the faculty, students and everyone in between.  Secondly, the coaching staff at Point University really saw something in me and wanted me there.  To me that was the deciding factor in making my choice for Point.  I'm really looking forward to beginning my collegiate career at Point University."
