WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University head men's soccer coach Jonathan Lenarz has added defender Billy Love from Eastside High School in Covington, Ga., to his 2017-18 squad.

"We first recruited Billy two years ago, and are happy to have him be our first signee in 2017," commented Coach Lenarz.  "He is ever improving as a player and is a versatile defender and is especially excellent in one-on-one battles."

Son of Bill and Kim Love of Covington, Ga., Billy earned All-Region first team and team Defensive Most Valuable Player honors during his senior season and also handled the placekicking and kick-off duties for the Eastside football team as a senior in 2016.  He made 6-of-10 field goals and 36-of-41 points-after touchdown and 10 of his 43 kick-offs resulted in touchbacks, and he earned Class 4-A; All-Region 4 first team recognition.  Love also played club soccer for the Rockdale Youth Soccer Association (RYSA).

Love commented on why he chose Point as the place where he will continue his education and competitive soccer career, "I like the small-school environment and the location."
