KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Point University (8-7) was defeated by #2 Reinhardt University (14-1) in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse championship game on Saturday, April 22 at Blaine Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. It was the Skyhawks first appearance in the AAC Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament and Point's first appearance in the championship game.

    

Reinhardt scored its first goal 3:10 into the game and scored seven unanswered goals until Point attacker Joshua Gracia (JR/Fleming Island, FL) found the back of the net during a man-up situation at 1:41 in the first quarter on an assist by attacker Chase Parker (FR/Lawrenceville, GA).

Point midfielder Greg Wilson (SR/Augusta, GA) added one more goal with 34 seconds remaining in the quarter in a man-up situation with an assist from GraciaWilson scored again to open the second quarter, finding the back of the net in a man-up opportunity at 14:39 on an assist by midfielder William Burgos (SO/St. Augustine, FL), and attacker Najarri Whitehead (SR/Decatur, GA) threw in an unassisted goal at 13:08 to shrink Reinhardt's advantage to three goals, 7-4.

The Eagles responded to Point's offensive surge, scoring three unanswered goals and held Point scoreless for the remainder of the quarter to increase their lead to six goals with 6:26 left in the first half, 10-4.

Point scored the first goal of the second half at 12:05 in the third quarter when Whitehead netted his second goal on an assist from midfielder William Collazo-Brown (JR/Baltimore, MD) to make it a 10-5 game.

Reinhardt added another goal at 11:07 in the third quarter and Point's Parker answered with a goal with 28 seconds remaining in the third quarter on a Wilson assist, but the Eagles would go on to hold the Skyhawks scoreless during the fourth quarter and added six more goals to defeat Point in the AAC Championship, 17-6.

Starting goalie Harry Dismukes (FR/Spanish Fort, AL) allowed 16 goals and saved nine shots in 58:22, and goalie Grayling Chestnut (FR/Atlanta, GA) allowed one goal in 1:38.  Reinhardt starting goalie Austin Ambrose allowed one goal in 13:56 and had to be replaced after sustaining an injury by goalkeeper Jacob Sammons, who allowed five goals and saved six shots in 46:04.

Wilson and Whitehead led the way for the Skyhawks with two goals each and Parker and Gracia chipped in one goal each to round out the scorers for the Skyhawks.  Parker, Whitehead, Burgos, and Collazo-Brown each contributed one assist each.

Three members of the Point University men's lacrosse team were named to the AAC All-Tournament team.  Wilson, Burgos, and defender Mitchell Daniel (JR/McDonough, GA) received the honor for their outstanding play during the AAC tournament.
