AAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, Steven Tracy of Point University
Men's Tennis - Mon, Apr. 17, 2017

WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University's Steven Tracy (SO/Saint Simons Island, Ga.) has been named Appalachian Athletics Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of April 9-15.  Point, which is receiving votes for the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' poll, finished with a 13-8 dual-match record and was 4-2 on conference.

Tracy is the fourth Point player to receive the conference's weekly award – Rafa Hewett (SR/Lewiston, Ida.), Asad Siyyid (SO/Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and Daniel Blanchard (SR/Peachtree City, GA) also have received AAC Player of the Week recognition this season.

Tracy provided two of Point's team points in a 5-4 conference loss to Reinhardt University, April 10, and two more in a 6-3 non-conference win on April 12, at Shorter University, an NCAA Division II team.  Tracy defeated Reinhardt's Nikita Hrynov at number five singles, 3-6, 6-2, 10-7, and teamed with number two doubles partner Asad Siyyid for an 8-5 win over Hrynov and Brandon Lane.  Tracy also defeated Dylan Wood from Shorter, 6-0, 6-0, at number five singles, and joined Siyyid to beat Mason Barnette and Patrick Sanders, 8-3.

Tracy improved his season singles records to 14-15 and 4-3 in conference, and is 12-11 in doubles with various partners, including records of 8-5 overall and 4-1 in conference with Siyyid.
