WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University (6-9; 3-4 AAC) defeated Truett McConnell University (0-11; 0-4 AAC), 18-2, in Wednesday, March 29 Appalachian Athletic Conference intercollegiate women's lacrosse action at River Bowl Stadium in West Point, Ga.  TMU played the entire game a man down, starting and playing only 11 players. 

    

Point held a 17-2 advantage at halftime, never trailed at any point during the game, and outscored the Bears 1-0 in a slow-paced second half on its way to securing its fourth consecutive win overall and its third consecutive conference win, 18-2.

Point starting goalie Emma Gross (FR/St. Augustine, FL) played the entire first half and allowed two goals and made one save, and second-half starting goalie Abagail Smith (JR/Cumming, GA) allowed no goals and saved no shots.  TMU's starting goalkeeper Kaitlynn Kubin played the entire game and allowed 18 goals and made five saves.

Point midfielder Sable Hawkins (JR/Newnan, GA) led the Skyhawks with four goals, attacker Alexandra Millican (FR/Jacksonville, FL) added three goals, midfielder Alexa Coronado (JR/Jacksonville, FL) also added three, and midfielder Dakota Overton (SO/Newnan, GA) and attacker Cathy Slusher (JR/St. Augustine, FL) each chipped in with two goals.  Attacker Grace Beardsley (JR/Peachtree City, GA), midfielder Kristen Owens (JR/Auburn, AL), attacker Ta'Mara Moore (JR/Birmingham, AL), and defender Reyne Perez (FR/Lithonia, GA) each tossed in one goal.

Attacker Olivia Godfrey was the lone goal-scorer for the Bears, throwing in two during the contest.

The Skyhawks scored 18 goals, attempted 31 shots, picked up 26 ground balls, controlled 13 draws, committed 12 turnovers, and committed eight fouls.  The Bears scored two goals, attempted five shots, scooped up seven ground balls, controlled eight draws, committed 21 turnovers, and committed 10 foul.

NEXT GAME:  Coached by Bryan Stanley, the Skyhawks travel to play Asbury University in an Appalachian Athletic Conference game on Saturday, April 8, at 12 p.m., in Wilmore, Ky.
