ATHENS AND MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – The Point University women's tennis team (4-11; 2-3 AAC) lost a 9-0 decision at Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, Tenn., Friday, March 24, and also lost 9-0 at Milligan College (6-7; 2-1 AAC) in Milligan College, Tenn., Saturday, March 25.

POINT AT TENNESSEE WESLEYAN:  Coach Chad Simpson pointed to Luz Padilla (JR/Tucuman, Argentina) as the "highlight" of Friday's match at TWU.  "Luz battled one of the top players in the conference and almost pulled off the upset.  She is so gritty and refuses to give up."  Padilla took on Nadin Antic at number one singles and won set one, 6-3, but lost set two, 6-1, and set three, 10-5.

Padilla and Katie Larck (FR/Champaign, IL) joined forces in a number one doubles match against Haruka Hirata and Noemi Principal from TWU, who won 8-3.  Larck, coming off an ankle injury which sidelined her for several matches earlier in March, later lost her first singles set against Hirata, 6-0, and defaulted before the start of set two.

Eman Cohen (FR/Columbus, GA) paired with Victoria White (SR/Kokomo, IN) for an 8-0 loss against Rachael Walker and Wendi Watson at number two doubles, and TWU received a default victory at number three doubles and went into singles, leading 3-0.

Principal defeated Cohen, 6-0, 6-0, at number three singles, and Katerina Saskova defeated White, 8-0, at number four singles.  Watson won an 8-0 super set over Ashley Lane (JR/LaGrange, GA) at number five singles.  TWU also won a default victory at number six singles.

POINT AT MILLIGAN:  Milligan swept all three doubles and all six singles against Point.  At number one doubles, Milligan's Abigail Allen and Lexie Hill knocked off Point's Luz Padilla and Katie Larck, 8-4, and Milligan's Brenna Ketron and Minda Martin shut out Eman Cohen and Victoria White at number two doubles, 8-0.  The Buffaloes won by default at number three doubles and number six singles.

Padilla went three sets with Allen at number one singles and lost set one, 6-3, won set two, 7-5, and lost set three, 10-5.  Hill defeated Larck at number two singles, 6-1, 6-4.  Martin defeated Cohen at number three singles, 6-2, 6-0, and Ketron scored a 6-2, 6-1 win over White at number four singles.  Ashley Lane played number six singles and lost to Rachel Blankenship, 6-1, 6-3.
