LAURINBURG, N.C. – Point University (4-9; 1-4 AAC) defeated St. Andrews University (1-4; 1-4 AAC), 7-2, in Thursday, March 23 Appalachian Athletic Conference intercollegiate women's lacrosse action in Laurinburg, N.C.  


Point held a 2-0 lead at halftime, never trailed at any point in the game, and outscored the Knights 5-2 during the second half on its way to securing its first conference win of the season, 7-2.

Point starting goalie Emma Gross (FR/St. Augustine, FL) played the entire first half and allowed no goals and made seven saves, and second-half starting goalie Abagail Smith (JR/Cumming, GA) allowed two goals and saved one shot.  The Knight's starting goalkeeper Erica Marlowe played the entire game and allowed seven goals and made 11 saves.

Point midfielder Hannah Hutto (SR/Evans, GA) and attacker Grace Beardsley (JR/Peachtree City, GA) both led the Skyhawks with two goals each, and attacker Alexandra Millican (FR/Jacksonville, FL), midfielder Kristen Owens (JR/Auburn, AL), and midfielder Dakota Overton (SO/Newnan, GA) each finished the game with one goal.

Savannah Midgley and Laura Deihl were the lone goal-scorers for St. Andrews.

The Skyhawks scored seven goals, attempted 24 shots, picked up 12 ground balls, controlled five draws, committed five turnovers, and committed eight fouls.  The Knights scored two goals, attempted 15 shots, scooped up 21 ground balls, controlled four draws, committed 16 turnovers, and committed one foul.
