WEST POINT, Ga. – Point University (3-5; 1-1) was defeated by #7 the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) (5-3; 1-0), 12-9, in Saturday, March 18 Appalachian Athletic Conference intercollegiate men's lacrosse action at River Bowl Stadium in West Point, Ga.  

    

Midfielder Greg Wilson (SR/Augusta, GA) put the Skyhawks on the board first with a goal at 9:26 in the first quarter.  UC answered by scoring back-to-back goals at 7:47 and 6:32 to gain their first lead of the game with 6:32 left in the first quarter, 2-1.

Point fired back with two back-to-back goals of its own, the first at 3:11 by attacker Najarri Whitehead (SR/Decatur, GA), and the second at 1:33 from the stick of attacker Chase Parker (FR/Lawrenceville, GA), giving the Skyhawks a one-goal lead, 3-2.

The Patriots tied the game 3-3 with a goal at 1:19, but Wilson netted his second goal of the game with one second remaining to give Point a one-goal advantage heading into the second quarter, 4-3.

No goals were scored in the second quarter until UC midfielder Luke Wyatt scored at 3:29, but Point midfielder William Collazo-Brown (JR/Baltimore, MD) found the back of the net at 3:22, and Wilson added his third goal of the half to put the Skyhawks ahead by two goals with 1:22 left in the half, 6-4.  Attacker Sam Collison threw in a goal for the Patriots with just 10 seconds remaining in the half to shrink Point's lead to one goal, 6-5.

Point started the third quarter with three unanswered goals from Collazo-Brown at 11:16, Wilson at 7:13, and Parker at 5:05 to increase the Skyhawk's lead to four goals with 5:05 left in the third quarter, 9-5.

The Skyhawks were not able to hold their lead and were shutout by the Patriots for the remainder of the game.  UC was able to add six straight goals during the remainder of the game to earn a three-goal lead and a victory at the end of the fourth quarter, 12-9.

Starting goalie Harry Dismukes (FR/Spanish Fort, AL) allowed 12 goals and saved eight opponent shots, and UC's starting goalie Dakota Lambing allowed nine goals and made 17 saves.

Wilson finished the contest with a game-high four goals on 13 shots and also added one assist, picked up nine ground balls, and caused one turnover.  Parker and Collazo-Brown each contributed two goals, and Whitehead tossed in one goal.

UC's Wyatt led the Patriots with three goals, and Collinson and midfielder Jake Mitchell each threw in two goals.
