MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – Point University (9-20; 5-16 AAC) lost a pair of Appalachian Athletics Conference matches at its final conference Three-Way of the season at Milligan College (Tenn.), Saturday, Oct. 29.  The Skyhawks lost to second-place Milligan College (28-6, 17-2 AAC), 3-1 (25-7, 25-17, 22-25 and 25-18), in their morning match, and lost to fifth-place Montreat College (14-17, 12-9 AAC), 3-0 (25-7, 27-25 and 25-21) in their early afternoon match.  Milligan defeated Montreat, 3-1, in the third match of the day.

 

POINT VS. MILLIGAN:  The Skyhawks lost sets one and two to the Buffaloes, three sets to one.  Milligan won sets one and two, 25-7 and 25-17, and Point won set three, 25-22, before Milligan closed out the match with a 25-18 win in set four.  Point finished with 45 kills with 29 attack errors in 142 total attacks (.113), 44 set assists, 56 defensive digs and four total blocks, while the hosts totaled 59 kills with just 15 errors in 139 total attacks (.317), 57 set assists, six service aces, 57 digs and 16 total blocks.

 

Right-side hitter Bellah DiLascio (SR/Homosassa, FL) led Point with 12 kills in 28 attempts, and outside hitter Laknea Malone (SO/Childersburg, AL) finished with 10 kills in 29 attempts and two assisted blocks.  Middle hitter Charlotte Havrisik (FR/Riverside, CA), Point's kills leader, totaled nine kills, two digs and two assisted blocks, and middle hitter Titiana Smith (FR/Pensacola, FL) contributed five kills and three assisted blocks.  Setter Julia Felix (FR/New Orleans, LA), Point's assists leader, finished with five kills, 35 set assists and 10 digs.

 

Libero Gabriana Nichols (JR/Pecos, TX) added 12 digs and six set assists, and defensive specialist Morgan Osbourne (FR/Fort Mitchell, AL) also recorded 12 digs.  Defensive specialist Sydney Cooley (SR/Powder Springs, GA) contributed 11 digs, and defensive specialist Janice Morales (SR/Miami, FL) totaled six digs and two assists.

 

POINT VS. MONTREAT:  Montreat swept three sets from Point by scores of 25-7, 27-25 and 25-21.  The Skyhawks finished with 26 kills with 21 attack errors in 101 total attacks (.050), 22 set assists, one service ace, 37 defensive digs and nine total blocks, while Montreat totaled 47 kills with 16 errors in 101 total attacks (.307), 45 set assists, six service aces, 51 digs and nine total blocks.

 

DiLascio and middle hitter Danielle Garrett (SR/Conyers, GA) killed five balls each and combined for three assisted blocks.  Havrisik finished with four kills, two digs and three assisted blocks and Malone also recorded four kills and had two digs, one solo block and one assisted block.  Felix finished with three kills, 18 set assists, three digs, one solo block and one assisted block.  Defensively, Nichols, Morales and Osbourne each posted eight digs, and Morales also served one ace.
