WEST POINT, Ga. - Point University head cheerleading coach Lara Beth Griffin has announced the addition of Emily Brown to the team's roster for the upcoming season. 


Brown was the captain of her cheerleading squad at Southland Academy and was also named a Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) All-American. Brown has also excelled in the classroom at Southland as the Americus, Ga. native is a Beta Club member, honor student and has received the outstanding scholastic achievement award each year she has been in high school. 


"I am so excited for Emily to be apart of this team," said Griffin. "She is going to add a lot to our program and I can't wait for her to get started." 


The 2015-16 season was the first that Point began cheering competitively in the NAIA. The Skyhawks competed on four occassions with the highlight being a home win over Middle Georgia State on Feb. 7.
