NEWNAN, Ga.- The Point University women's cross country team participated in the SCAD Atlanta Invitational in Newnan, Ga. Friday evening. All four members of the Skyhawks that competed in the 5K race recorded a season best time, and three Point runners finished in the top 25.


Becky Guadiana paced the Skyhawks with a fifth place finish and a season best 5K time of 20:22.25. Savanah Hanna and Shelby Garritson also finished in the top 25 for the Skyhawks, with Hanna placing 11th and Garritson finishing 25th. Hannah completed the race in 21:23.88 while Garritson finished in 22:51. Aseantia Pullens rounded out the Skyhawks runners with a 53rd place finish and a time of 28:15.19, nearly a minute faster than her previous season best time.


Guadiana's fifth place finish marks the second time she has finished in the top five in a race this season and the third time she has finished in the top 15.


SCAD Atlanta's Rebecca Lord took home first place with a time of 19:17.04. The top three finishers were all from SCAD, and the Bees finished in first place in the team standings as a result.

The Skyahwks will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 9 for the NAIA Pre-Nationals
