UNICOI, Tenn. -- In a showdown of the best women's cross country teams in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, the Skyhawk women were outpaced by winner Tennessee Wesleyan and runner up Milligan College.

Point had three women finish in the Top-7 overall, which was more than any other school in the race. Leading the way was freshman Becky Guadiana who ran the three mile course in a time of 18:41.

Finishing behind Guadiana was junior Samantha Greenlee (5th overall / 18:59) and freshman Haley Johnson (7th overall / 19:28).

Head women's cross county coach Michael Caldwell is excited about the depth his team has.

"The Top-3 finishers for us ran really well today," Caldwell said. "I am very proud of the way those three competed today. I still believe one of the strengths of this team is our depth but unfortunately it did not show today. The good news is we have time to get better and even though we finished third, the top 3 teams were really close."
